As one of the country’s largest pizza manufacturers, Venice Bakery supplies the food service industry, grocery stores and markets, as well as restaurants and pizza chains across America. We constantly strive to perfect and expand our product line, and we are proud to announce our most recent new addition: gluten-free pizza. We are delighted to be able to provide all our customers – particularly those with a gluten intolerance or celiac disease – with this healthy, tasty option.
Several years ago, Venice Bakery President, Jimmy DeSisto, was asked by Dr. Karima Hirani, a practitioner of holistic medicine at the University of Southern California, to create a good-tasting, gluten-free pizza for her students and patients. Dr. Hirani explained that a gluten-free diet improved the behavioral patterns of many of the autistic children she treated – and that was all the inspiration that Mr. DeSisto needed. He set out to research the gluten-free market, intent on producing the perfect gluten-free pizza crust – one that would meet Venice Bakery’s rigorous standards.
In collaboration with our team of skilled bakers, Mr. DeSisto combined their exceptional/signature craftsmanship with Venice Bakery’s dedication to artisanal baking techniques. Dr. Hirani’s reaction after her first bite convinced us that together they had discovered the perfect combination of ingredients, and it remains the secret recipe we use at Venice Bakery today.
We are proud to be recognized as a leader in the gluten-free market. Our gluten-free products are tested by the Celiac Sprue Association which certifies that Venice Bakery adheres to their standards. Today our gluten-free pizza crusts are the fastest-growing segment of our business.
